    Welcome to Short Media

    First things first.

Please move HJT out of the temporary folder and into its own permanent folder. When using HJT to "fix" your computer, HJT makes a backup in case a necessary item is inadvertantly deleted.

Next, make sure you can view hidden and system files: Instructions here => http://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html.

Then, reboot in the safe mode, run CWShredder, and then run HJT. "Fix" these items if they still exist:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,SearchAssistant = ,
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer,CustomizeSearch = ,
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Page_URL = http://us8.hpwis.com/
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Owner\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about_:blank
    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about_:blank

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B2459A89-EB36-41EB-88FE-26D16B877330} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\fen.dll

    O18 - Filter: text/html - {6898BA17-3DF6-45B0-957D-6D36D2725855} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\fen.dll
    O18 - Filter: text/plain - {6898BA17-3DF6-45B0-957D-6D36D2725855} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\fen.dll

While still in safe mode, locate "C:\WINDOWS\System32\fen.dll" and rename it to fen.ddd. Move it to a new folder you will create named C:\quarantine. That way you can always replace the file if it somehow turns out that I am completely wrong and the file is a necessary files. Quarantining is safer than deleting.

Reboot normal and post a new HJT log.

    You are quite welcome.

A word of warning, some of these have a hidden reloader. If the problem comes back, post a new HJT log in this thread (do NOT start a new thread).

If everything seems normal after a week, delete the file from the quarantine folder.

Also, you may want to reset your computer to hide the system files so you do not inadvertantly change or delete one.
