Sony DRU-500a faceplate removal

edited July 2004 in Hardware
Greetings!

Noob here posting for the first time. First, let me say that I have learned much just by perusing these forums.

Here is my question. I am building a new AMD64 system (3200+ and the ASUS K8V SE Deluxe with 1GB Corsair XMS PC3200 2-2-2-5). I am putting it into an Antec P160 aluminumg enclosure, which has two bays that "stealth" optical drives. One of my opticals is a Sony DRU-500a DVD multi format burner. These drives have the beige bezel, and the tray has a large silver faceplate on the front of the tray. The tray faceplate is larger than the opening in the "stealth" bay. As such, I will have to remove the staelth bay for that drive. How difficult is it to remove the silver faceplate from the front of the tray? I want to try and see if i can either modify it to fit the stealth cover, or to paint the beige bezel to match the rest of the drive. If I can remove the silver faceplate relatively easy, I might try snading it's edge down to a size that would make it work with the stealth cover.

Sorry for the long post, and I appreciate any responses!
