Hi, any explanation why my computer is suddenly so slow? I recently deleted a virus that hijacked my e-mail adresses and sent quite nasty e-mails to my friends...

I don't see anything too bad in there....

Did you install the McAffee Antivirus after you figured out you had a problem? If so, that may be the cause, anti-virus programs do slow your system down a bit, as they scan folders when they are opened, applications when they are launched etc.

McAfee really sucks. It slowed my computer down in a big way. I ditched it in favor of AVG Free edition (www.grisoft.com) and now everything's all good.

You can also get rid of the following useless stuff, which will help a bit:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] C:\Programme\Java\j2re1.5.0\bin\jusched.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Programme\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

Thank you for your time and help. Those were good ideas. However, I now do have omegasearch again. Was that hidden somewhere? I post my log in a new thread as recommended. Thanks!
