Okay I had to reformat my computer, I have alot of pics on my HD that I didn't wanna loose. I was wondering if anyone knows of any programs out there that are good for recovering lost data. Thanks!

Here are some of the popular programs.

    GetDataBack
    http://www.runtime.org/

    http://www.recover4all.com
    http://www.convar.de
    http://www.pcinspector.de/file_recovery/welcome.htm
    http://www.r-studio.com

    EasyRecovery
    http://www.ontrack.com/

I know PCInspector File Recovery is free.
I dunno about the rest, I know that recover4all and Easy recovery costs quite a lot of money.
I have not checked out all the programs, I found the links in a similar thread at another forum.

Also try not to write anything to the affected drive.
The more you do, the less is your chance of succes.
I hope you have a seperate drive or partition for the recovery operation?

If you've written to the drive you wish to recover, your data is gone, and it cannot be recovered.

Data can be recover until it has not been overwritten nor got corrupted.

Go to my crappy web page which takes forever and a day to load, is poorly organized, and is just there to entice you into paying for stuff you can get elsewhere at no charge.

    It is teh winnar! :woowoo:
