strange things are afoot...

A while ago a Lycos search thing appeared on my desktop and I knew bad things were happening. With the gracious help of Prime and everyone else I THOUGHT I fixed the problem.

My PC has NEVER acted the same, though. HUGE slowdowns in closing proggies and the such, large lags and the following error appearing at seemingly random intervals.

I'll also drop a Hijack this log just in case I missed something...

Thank ya thank ya.

That looks bad. d Unless you know what it is, delete everything in that folder as well in safe mode.

    These are bad:

    Also what is this:

As for the explorer.exe error I would replace it with another known good copy of it if you happen to have another copy of that OS installed somewhere. That is if the above things dont fix that problem.

That's a popup stopper. You can leave it.

After a quick google for "sysfader", it looks like that is what controls the fading of menus and tooltips.
Try the following to see if it stops:
Display Properties -> Effects -> uncheck "Use Transition Effects for menus and tooltips"

That's the instructions for win2k. Maybe a lil different for xp.
