I checked in task manager and it is up and running. How do I periodically check to see if it is running, what it is working, and how much work it has done on my machine?

Does it store work on my machine?

    Thanks!

Yes it does ...go to your folding folder and you will have a folder within it called "work" ...this is where the work units are stored but don't delete anything in there.
To check the progress look in you folding folder and find the fahlog.txt ...open it and check it thru but don't edit it. It should keep you up on what's happening. Also there is a file called unitinfo.txt and it should give you an idea of the percentage progress but it won't tell you if the client is working or not just the last point of progress ...it looks like this:

    Current Work Unit
    Name: p732_BBA5_sd_h2o
    Download time: July 12 18:24:11
    Due time: July 22 18:24:11
    Progress: 47% [||||______]

lastly ...there is a program that many if not most of us use over at www.em-dc.com called Electron Microscope III ...it is an awesome little program for keeping track of the console client.

Personally, I use this method for installing F@H as a service:

Quick and easy using the free version of FireDaemon.

    Dexter...
yes I hear that firedaemon is easier to set up. The only reason I haven't used it is that our admin at work once indicated a bunch of programs running on it around the campus and those machines were causing trouble. Not knowing what the actual problem was he deleted them. He leaves my F@H service alone so I'm ok for now and he did look for firedaemon.
I guess it's because I manage my own systems mostly but I'm sure if he'd seen firedaemon there he would have nixed it. He is no more interested in F@H than I was before I started!!!

Welcome to Team 93, Chip. Great to see you have it working. :fold:

Just be aware.........Folding can be contagious, lol.

My wife (Sally) started with just 1 puter folding. Now she has 10. We get great enjoyement out of the friendly rivalry and ofcourse we are doing this for all the right reasons. To hopefully assist in finding a cure for all those horrible diseases that can/have affect(ed) us.

Now to keep an eye on the various stats available on the net.

Well I am glad you got Folding as a service running. I have never installed it that way. I always use the Firedaemon way.
