Heatsink Choices

Aight, I'm sending my SLK-800A back to exchange it for an 800U.

For my parent's system I'm thinking I'm gonna get an AX-7 (the lighter HS should be better as far as the clip wearing out...) That coupled with the a SmartFan2 should be able to cool their stock 1700+ TBred right?

Is there a better choice for my parents for 20 or less?

    If it's not OC'd, don't waste the money on a Smart Fan 2, get a generic 80mm. If it's OC'd then the Smart Fan 2 is money well spent (although defintely audible at full speed).

    If you already have the SF 2, then just adjust the speed down a bit for a non-OC'd system and you won't hear it.

    AX-7 is a great choice.
