Checking Up/Download Speed?

I am curious if there is any way to find out the speed my computer is sending information at? I do alot of stuff in dreamweaver, but when it is working on uploading and downloading files from sites, it does not show the speed, which would really help.

Anything that can do this? I know there has to be... preferrably something within windows? The taskmanager doesn't give the actual speed(XP).

You could always use an external ftp program like smartFTP or something instead of the internal dreamweaver thing.

    They will show u/d speeds...

For a rough estimate I just open the connection properties - if it's shown in bytes - and see how much it changes each second. If it's packets it's pretty safe to just multiply by MTU but that's a little more complicated.
