as some of you might know that my Chaintech ti4600 died a week ago, and i just sent in my RMA, newegg just sent me a email today, because that item is discontinued, they offered to give me a
GAINWARD/CARDEXPERT GeForce 4 Ti 4600, 2.8ns, Twin-DVI, 128MB DDR, Power pack and Golden Sample, VIVO. 2 DVI connectors + 2 CRT adaptors + a (3+1)-port IEEE1394 firewire card, OVERCLOCKING,

OR a $250 refund

i was wondering which one would be a better deal, tell me what you think.

Take the $$$ and buy a Radeon 9800 Pro.

Be able to play half life 2 with Full Screen Anti-Aliasing and have a seriously kickass graphics card (that is damn good value)... buy a Radeon 9800pro (256mb).

Not able to play half life 2 with Full Screen Anti-Aliasing and have a seriously kickass graphics card (but only just faster than the 9800pro and loads more $$$) buy a 5900ultra (256mb).

The choice is yours ;) I know where my money would go *cough* ATI *cough*

for the $250 you could immediately buy something faster. you'd probably be pretty close to a 9700 pro without any extra cash. however if you have 2 monitors, having dual out can be very addicting

hey...dont get anything messed up here..i AM an ati fan....but..from what ive seen...the 5900 got better benches...but i did forget about the doom3 problem with nVidia...so it seems that the 9800pro is the way to go....

Check this review out before going with the 256 MB version.

I guess it would only work out well when the big two (doom 3 and hl2) eventually come out.
