You name it - I am infested - alchem, dyfuca, lycos, etc

Hi everyone,

About a month ago, my computer was hijacked by numerous malware and I don't think I have all the crap off my computer yet. I had dyfuca (which I still have five new diallers on my computer and phone software), twaintech, lycos searchbar or something like that and more. I now have something called alchem.exe - from my limited understanding, I think this is a trojan.

I have ad aware and use panda virus software. I also have used Peper and CWS shredder. I cannot download spybot as the fikes keep corrupting. I cannot download all of the critical downloads from Microsoft because the files keep corrupting. And darn it all, I can't play everquest anymore because the downloads have corrupted since the hijack. :(

If anyone can give me some advice on how to clean my computer, I would very much appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

Kim

Hi - I am just wondering why this is being rated as a terrible posting? Should I be giving additional information? Or omitting something? any advice would be more than appreciated.

    Thanks.

Well, like our Etiquette Guidelines recommend, you must understand that this is strictly volunteer for us, and sometimes we just can't get to people's threads. Please try to be patient and someone will get to this one for you. We see dozens and dozens of these a day and sometimes it gets a little tiring.....

This has nothing to do with me commenting on the timeliness of people responding - I am totally aware and grateful that there are people who do this type of volunteer work. As noted in my previous comment, I was simply wondering if there was a better way to communicate with you re: information I am providing you. Unlike you, I am not savvy in this line of business and am not aware of the lingo that is commonly used.

Hi Gibbons - I actually found this site last night and seemed to have fixed the alchem problem. Thanks for your help.
