Are heat spreaders for DDR RAM worth it? If so, is copper necessary or aluminum sufficient?

And for miniature heatinks for individual RAM chips on video cards and for mosfets better to be aluminum or copper? How should these be applied? I have AS Alumina adhesive, but that stuff never comes off... what if I need to remove them?

I remember seeing an article sometime back reviewing Heat Spreaders that showed no real significant gain by using them - Same overclocks with or without and with only a minor temperture difference. If your ram comes equipped with them then great - They look snazzy. If not, then its really no big deal.
As far as ram sinks go I'm sure Thrax will be in here soon to tell you that they are worthless, which they pretty much are. (IMO as well) They are most often attached with a thermal adhesive by people who dont plan on taking them off. :p

The spreaders are useless, trust me.
You can use the alumina on the corner of the sinks so that it´s not stuck totally if you know what i mean.

Aluminum will do perfectly well on memory and mosfets, you wont see any difference between that or copper.
