Lexmark has always been famous for having the most expensive ink in the universe. It´s common that 3 colors costs more than the printer itself. I would not recommend Lexmark just because of that actually even if they have a good printing quality.
The Lexmark OptraColor 1200 color laser printers at work go through ink like mad. At almost $200.00 CAD for a color toner, and there are 3 of them to change per printer, you can quickly see how Lexmark make's their money.
IMHO, don't purchase Lexmark as the ink is worth more than the printer itself.
I've had a pretty good experience with the HP2110 series, but that is most likely out of your price range. Perhaps some of the older HP models (discontinued) would be available like the PSC 750 (950?).

Well, actually, the Epsons have cheapest generic ink available per page worth for COLOR printing. Look at a C62UX for price. Fax modem faxes, might have one. Lexmark scanners are decent, though for inexpensive scanners.
I would, myself, do the NOT an all-in-one thing and build a shelf rack if need be for the multiple devices-- maybe something along these lines?
