Drawing lines to scale?

Hi software gurus,
I use PSP7. If I want to draw a plan of a room to scale, is there a way to draw the lines to the lengths I want? The only way I have done this is by placing a grid on the page but it's a messy way of doing it.

Doesn't PSP7 have rulers? The only way you can properly scale in PSP7 is to use those rulers and work out the ratio. EG: 1 CM = 1 Metre or whatever ratio you'd like to use.

I've never used 7, but I use 5 all the trime, and whenever I'm drawing straight lines, the status bar at the bottom tells me how long I'm making them. I use that (along with the coordinates read-out) to square things up when I draw.

It does have rulers but they're fixed. Coordinates? hmm, I'll have to see if I can change the readout to give cm, the numbers it gives are just numbers at the moment.
    Thanks guys.
