Hi,
We have a laptop running WinXP Pro and some clever dick has changed the Administrator's password and has forgot what it is. The PC didn't have any passwords setup on it before and now we are stuffed, we can't log on to windows. Does anyone have a simple solution to this problem?
Many thanks.

There are a number of tools usually in the form of special bootable CD's that allow you to reset the admin password. Try just ggogling for it. There is half a dozen tools that can do this trick.

Less vaguely put, download a copy of Knoppix. It'll do what you want. It's a bootable CD.

I really need to get this in a .txt document on my desktop I use it that much.

    go here

    http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/

Download the software to make a boot disk. Then follow the instructions on the site.

I won’t be held responsible if it doesn’t work althought I have used it loads of times and not had it fail on me once.

I concur... The NTpasswd works great... I use it weekly for PC's with unknown Admin Passwords...
