Corsair Memory Timing

edited August 2004 in Hardware
Hi there,

I have 1GB of Corsair RAM (Corsair Twinx 2x512MB XMS3200 Pro)

I have read here and elsewhere that the best memory timings for this memory is 11-2-2-2

I currently have it set at 11-3-2-2

I have tried to lower it to 11-2-2-2 but to no avail, I have also upped the voltage to the max my BIOS will allow (2.9v). But my system will not boot with these timings.

I have an AMD XP3200+ and my mobo is an NF7-S 2.0

Any ideas what I can do to get these timings? Or am I simply not able to with this RAM.

Thanks.

At 1GB, it's improbable to squeeze 2/2/2 out of memory sticks simply because the physical latency implied with such large volumes of RAM makes it very hard.

Ahhh, I see, I was wondering how other people were doing it with this type of memory but didn't know the amount of RAM was an issue.
Thanks for clearing that up for me.

Would you say that 11-3-2-2 is the best timing for me then?

If you can run it, yeah. :)

I am running mine 2-3-3-11. It works just fine at 200fsb.

    Mine is set to 2-2-2-11.
And I have a "jiggabyte" of memory.

    2x256+1x512

    It works just fine.

2-2-2-11 usually gives the highest benchmarks in programs such as Sandra, but 2-2-2-5 or 2-2-2-6 is still best for games. You need to look at performance from a variety of different points...

I leave my timing to JDEC for PC3200. I like not having problems. ;)
