I keep getting these.

Over the last week or so I have had around 6 emails that contain a virus. My anti virus gets it and deletes it. The virus comes as an attachment. It's WORM-NETSKY.AC
Here's a copy of the email, do they think I'm stupid?

We have received several abuses:

- Hundreds of infected e-Mails have been sent
from your mail account by the new Mydoom.F worm
- Spam email has been relayed by the backdoor
that the virus has created

The malicious file uses your mail account to distribute
itself. The backdoor that the worm opens allows remote attackers to gain the control of your computer. This new worm is spreading rapidly around the world now and it is a serios new threat that hits users.

Due to this, we are providing you to remove the
infection on your computer and to
stop the spreading of the malware with a
special desinfection tool attached to this mail.

If you have problems with the virus removal file,
please contact our support team at support@norman.com.
Note that we do not accept html email messages.

Any way to trace where these are coming from?

I Hate When That Happens But I Can Tell When Something Is Junk And Could Be Dangerous So I Never Open The Email And Block The Person That Sent Me The Email.

The problem with blocking by address is the same as finding the source. The addresses are spoofed. Heck, they are probably coming from a machine that has been taken over by a trojan. Until email source authentication becomes a reality there is nothing to do about it.

That's what I thought. It's not a problem, anti virus stops it and I never open attachments from anybody I don't know well.
    Annoying though innit?

The problem is ... the Microsoft Outlook Express Block Sender option doesn't work! Neither does the Create Rule from Message option. I use version 6 of OE. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or do these functions, care of Microsoft, simply just NOT WORK?

I think they do work but the scum bags that send them don't send them from the same address's, it changes all the time.

Look at the message headers, I guarantee they're all coming from the same person.

It might even be somebody you know. These worms don't spoof headers.

You should check out this thread:

    http://www.short-media.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12418

That is a discussion on spam-blocking tools and techniques. Several good pointers in there, and some of the programs recommended like SpamBayes and Mailwasher do a great job in helping keep unwanted e-mail, including viruses and worms, out of your inbox.
