'Removable Storage' missing

Whenever I plug in a Removable Storage device (flash drive, digital camera, etc) I can hear and see Windows detecting it, but for some reason it isn't showing up in My Computer using Explorer. If, say, I go in Word and go to My Computer, viola, there it is! I can also type G: in the bar and it'll find it just fine. Why won't it show up there be default? I know it did until just a little while ago...

    try right clicking in a white spot and hitting arrange by-->type--> nd check show in groups.
