i dont think the RIAA can sue abit for that..i mean its nothing more than a firewall...amd u have a damn right to keep everything on ur computer private..i mean shiznet/....
...I agree with you that they couldn't sue merely because of the technology - there are certainly many uses to which it could be applied.
I think where they might have a case is in the fact that Abit is encouraging activity which the RIAA (and maybe the courts - we'll see) considers illegal. It's legal to sell sleeping pills, but if you start running ads saying "this will make it easy to bump off old granny so you can collect the inheritance - and they can't catch you!" you're probably going to get into trouble.
I'm not saying that I wish Abit would stop doing this - I think it's a good idea to show the RIAA just how easy it would be to circumvent their snooping - but I do think they're asking for trouble.
