I had to rma an 18g Seagate Cheetah scsi drive last month because it wouldn't spin up. So I got an rma sent it off they confirmed a few days later that a replacement had been sent. 10 days later still no drive so I contacted them & they said they'd send another drive as their couriers couldn't provide a shipping number. If my other drive ever turned up I could keep as compensation.

A few days later my drive turned up, didn't bother to install as I didn't have time. Then this morning another parcel turns up from Seagate, its my original replacement drive, over a month late! So i open it up & note that the model number is different from the other drive. So I go to the Seagate web site & it turns out they've sent me a 73g drive!!! Bloody hell these things retail for over £360 new, I got mine for £30 off Ebay.

So what do I do now, sell the 18g or the 73g or keep them both. Both are U320, 15000 rpm drives, just a shame I cant raid them.

15k U320 18gb? That's just screaming for an OS on it with the 73 for data.

I used to have my OS on the 18g drive but I already have a 320 sata raid array for data. I suppose I could put data on the larger drive i.e. my game files or use it as a back up.
