Please help with Hijack problem on my XP

I just read through the forum's "before you post about a hijack" information, and have run ad-aware and spybot search&destroy. here's my latest info from HijackThis. Please advise me on what I can do to get rid of the current unwanted popups and other junk that is cluttering my previously normal system:

    Welcome to Short-Media :)

First, you will notice that I edited your HJT log slightly to remove your last name and replace it with ***'s. That is for your own privacy :)

Ok, reboot your computer in SAFE MODE. Run HJT. FIX the following:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchAssistant = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://members.cox.net/*******

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,SearchURL = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://members.cox.net/*******

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = res://C:\WINDOWS\system32\shdocpe.dll/asst.html

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,CustomizeSearch = http://websearch.drsnsrch.com/sidesearch.cgi?id=

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL,(Default) =
    websearch.drsnsrch.com/q.cgi?q=

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page_bak = http://members.cox.net/*******

(Some of those are just legit backups of your homepage, but let's just clean them all out for now.)

    O2 - BHO: MxTargetObj Class - {0000607D-D204-42C7-8E46-216055BF9918} - C:\WINDOWS\mxTarget.dll

    O2 - BHO: Band Class - {01F44A8A-8C97-4325-A378-76E68DC4AB2E} - C:\WINDOWS\systb.dll

    O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {2CDE1A7D-A478-4291-BF31-E1B4C16F92EB} - (no file)

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [arwgnsamkmyii] C:\WINDOWS\System32\dycpmp.exe

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [iexplore] C:\WINDOWS\System32\iexplore.exe

(This is a bogus entry made to look like it is Internet Explorer...but it is not.)

After fixing those entries, exit HJT. Stay in SAFE MODE, and manually locate every single one of those .exe files and .dll files mentioned above.

Move these to a new folder called :C:\Quarantine. Rename the .dll's to .ddd, and the .exe's to .xxx. That way you can always replace them if it somehow turns out that one or more of these are necessary files....which is not likely, but quarantining is safer than deleting them.

Reboot normally, check things out, and let us know how it looks. Post a fresh log for review.

Dexter, thanks for the help. Here's my udpated log after making the recommended changes. I should note that I'm still getting warnings from Spybot that "Avenue A, Inc." and "Double Click" are still trying to get access to my computer (just about every time I surf to a new website or hyperlink), which is the main problem I've noticed so far.

    The log looks good.

Avenue A and Double-click are ad-serving companies. Many times the ads are legit ads, such as ads placed on a news page of a site like CNN.com. Don't worry about those types of warnings.

Take some time to learn a bit more about spyware, and how to protect yourself in the future:
