Is this clean?

I have been reading the posts here for a while and I have followed the instructions given for what to do before posting to this forum. I have ad-aware 6.0 and Spybot Search and Destroy (both updated), I use both the built-in firewall provided by Windows XP and Zone Alarm, and I have the Sophos anti-virus package (all also recently updated). I have run my ad-aware and spybod s&d in safe mode after doing my first hijackthis log (as well as letting HJT fix a number of things which I read others who posted here advise to remove). I have now run another log, which looks clean to me (as if I know what "clean" is supposed to look like). I would like a second opinion before I pat myself on the back for a job well done.

A quick question: My Zone Alarm lock out has a disquieting habit of "unlocking" itself when I'm not looking. This disturbs me, also my defragmenting program alerts me that my drive had become more fragmented even when I have not been working. It seems to me that I ought to be concerned. Any ideas what might be going on?

So, if you would kindly look at my file and let me know your diagnosis, I would appreciate it greatly. BTW - what is "folding"?

My HJT log:

    Welcome to short-media :)

    There are some fishy entries in your log:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Int ernet Settings,ProxyServer = http=127.0.0.1:80
    R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

    O1 - Hosts: 12.129.205.209 search.netscape.com12.129.205.209 sitefinder.verisign.com

    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions present
    O6 - HKCU\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control Panel present

    And ESPECIALLY:

    O21 - SSODL: System - {7E6B31E4-1B7C-4C55-A74F-710B77ECE22C} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\system32.dll

    I'd run a full virus scan, with the most recent definitions if I were you.

    Folding is a distributed computing program that works on protein folding analysis for Stanford University. Our goal is to help further protein-related disease/disorder research. It runs in the background, does not slow your computer down, and is for a good cause. Plus, we have "teams" that help foster a friendly sense of competition so that more people will fold, and fold more. You can read all about it on our Folding Page. We would be honored if you joined our team :D

    Well, I ran my Sophos AV package and it came up clean, but I am concerned because I can't run it in safe mode. This isn't a new deveopment, I never could, and I think that Sophos is dependent upon an internet connection to run properly.

    I also ran both the ad-ware and spybot S&D again (all three programs, I made sure were completely up to date before running). Only the Spybot S&D gave me a warning, which reads:

    DSO Exploit source object exploit (registry change, nothing done)
    HSKEY_USER|S1-5-18\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0\1004!=W=3

    DSO Exploit source object exploit (registry change, nothing done)

    DSO Exploit source object exploit (registry change, nothing done)
    HKEY_USERS\Default\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Zones\0\1004!=W=3

    I have not yet attempted to fix the "fishy" entries in my HJT log.

    What do I do now?

    Those DSO exploits aren't really anything to worry about. Fix the entries that I listed, while in safe mode, and then reboot and repost a log.

    Looks like it. There's a few things in there that I'd get rid of, not because they are scummy, but because they are useless:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RoxioDragToDisc] "C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\DragToDisc\DrgToDsc.exe"
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [RoxioAudioCentral] "C:\Program Files\Roxio\Easy CD Creator 6\AudioCentral\RxMon.exe"

    Not necessary with windows XP - you can already drag to disk, built right into the OS.

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PrinTray] C:\WINDOWS\System32\spool\DRIVERS\W32X86\3\printra y.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot

    Thanks so much for the advice. I have removed those entries you suggested as well. Below is my latest HJT log. I'm creating a new system restore point now. I'll check out the folding forum and see if I might contribute something to that cause. Thanks again!

    One last thing: I'm not sure what this is.... Do you know what it is? If you don't, you might want to get rid of it:

    O4 - Global Startup: Watch.lnk = C:\Program Files\DC Series 1\Console\Watch.exe

    Other than that, I'll call this thing resolved :)

    It would be awesome if you joined our folding team. Please enjoy our site and don't be a stranger :)
