Windows Decryption Problem. Please Help!!

I am sooooo frustrated right about now. Last week I encrypted some really important files (things that cannot be redownloaded). A couple days ago I tried to look at one of them and it said that it cannot be opened. Then I tried to remove the encryption and it gave me an error about not have permissions. I looked up this sort of thing online and found that I should allow access to the System Volume Information folder. But it is still happening. I really need to have access to these files. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The basic efs in Windows xp pro. I just right clicked and set it to encrypt. I was able to look at the files for a while (the first couple of days). I'm not sure what the heck I did to make me not have access to these encrypted files. I have tried looking at them with guest, admin, and my own account and have not been able to see them. I've also tried the cipher command in the command line but have also been denied access. The weird thing is that I have been able to decrypt the folder (directories) but not any of the actual files in the folders. (And I do select the sub files and folders options). Anyone got any ideas?
