Can u please help?

:) Hi!
Dexter has been helping me with this spyware problem the last few days....and boy does this guy have a lot of patience!
I am not very familiar with computer stuff..but I'm learning. Dexter asked me to post my HijackThis log. I ran adaware like suggested, but Spybot froze 3/4 of the
way thru.

Also, after I ran HijackThis the program "Popup Manager" disappeared. Can you recommend a better program for Popups?
If you ask to reboot the computer in safe mode...you'll have to explain...I'm not sure I know how.

Here is my log:

    Hi Sami,

glad to see you got HJT running. Before anything else though, we need you to make a new folder in your C drive, called C:\HJT. Move Hijack This into there.

For pop-ups, either use Panicware's Free Pop-Up Stopper:

    http://www.panicware.com/product_psfree.html

    or use the Google Toolbar:

    http://toolbar.google.com/

For your log, reboot your computer into SAFE MODE. (To do this, after restarting the computer, tap the F8 key until you get a screen with Boot Options, and choose SAFE MODE with no options.)

Run Hijack This and scan. Put a checkmark beside the following entries, and press the FIX button:

    R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = http://www.zkoczmyamyclokpc.uk/_prMDqHwZc_HtTXZlSX2YDpcLj9yO04ABxBKVXS3/iCFqilZNEvcstUmc2aRRh_v.html

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SecondGram] C:\PROGRA~1\64BAT~1\coaldog.exe
    O16 - DPF: {F00F4763-7355-4725-82F7-0DA94A256D46} (IMDownloader Class) - http://www2.incredimail.com/contents/setup/downloader/imloader.cab

    Then,

Next, stay in SAFE MODE, and locate:

    C:\PROGRA~1\64BAT~1\coaldog.exe

This will actually be folders with longer names:

    C:\Program Files\64BAT***SOMETHING***\coaldog.exe

Make sure you are set to show hidden files and folders on your system, instructions to do that are in the link above "Steps to take before posting a Hijack This log."

Move that file to a new folder called :C:\Quarantine. Rename the the .exe part to .xxx. That way you can always replace them if it somehow turns out that one or more of these are necessary files....which is not likely, but quarantining is safer than deleting them.

Now, reboot normally, and check things out. Come let us know how it worked. Run a new HJT scan, and post the log here for further review.

    Hi Dexter!
when i downloaded Hijackthis I saved it in my C drive. Is this the same thing. I tried to create a new folder under C:\HJT, like you said, but it said i can't have :/ in the name.

On your C drive, create a folder called "HJT" not "C:\HJT"

When you make the folder the way Thrac explained, the end result will be C:\HJT. You only end up seeing it as HJT, the C:\ part is the DOS portion of the name that Windows hides from you. I guess I should avoid assuming that everyone will understand that. Sorry to confuse you. :)

Do what Thrax said, it will give you the folder we need: "HJT" right on your C drive, at the very first level of your C drive.

    Thanks Thrax.

Okay. I did what u said....I think I did it right. You might want to explain how to move a file into a new folder....step by step...cause i don't know if I did that right.
anyway, mysearch is still here. I've run Hijackthis, and here is my log. Please don't lose your patience with me...but believe it or not...I'm the computer whiz in this house! LOL
