PC -> Stereo

edited August 2004 in Hardware
What's the best way to hook my PC up to my receiver? I've done it before using old headphones and an RCA but is there a better way? I've looked for a sound card with a 2 channel audio out but I can't find one.

    You go into your audio properties and set it to 2ch. and you can purchase a 1/8" mini plug to RCA cable from Radio Shack and hook it to the front speaker output on your sound card and run the RCA's to the AUX. input on the reciever.
    It's fairly straightforward.

    I think RCA is the simplest & best way to do it, unless it's got a digital input. You can buy a cord that is minijack (1/8", the standard sound card output for speakers/headphones) on one end and RCA on the other to hook right up to your stereo set. I've been doing about the same thing for years.
