Home Theater Hookup

Okay, here's the situation...

I ran a cat5 cable from a fileserver machine to a box built solely for movies and music to the home theater.

I'm using an Audigy soundcard.

I have a stereo miniplug splitter going from the soundcard to the receiver.

I've tried the DVD inputs, VCR inputs and AUX inputs all with the same result...

BUZZING!!!!

How can I eliminate this incessant sound? It's very minor but it's audible and driving me certifiably INSANE.

Thank you.

Fold on.

you need a loop terminator something or other. i have one, it looks like two c batteries with cables running from their ends.

i believe radio shack has them. just explain to them what you need it for, they should be able to get one for you.

I had this problem, it really drove me up the wall. Eventually I figured out the fix by accident. I had the VCR and computer both plugged in to the back of the receiver (it had several pairs of RCA plugs for different devices). It would buzz almost unbearably with the computer input until one day I unplugged the VCR's connection!! Gone like it was never there! So if you've got anything else connected check that out.
