I have a laptop that i am using wirelessly in my house, but i like to plug it into the wired connection at my desk to get better transfer speeds. Is there some way i can have it disconnect from the wireless network by default when i have an active wired connection? Dell 600m, intel wireless card, winxpsp2.
Thanks guys.

doesn't it default to the wired connection? the wireless is on but i always thought when you plugged it in it would default to the stronger connection which would be the wire. makes sense to me hehe

I do the same thing, connect wired or wireless to the same desktop. The Intel PROSet software or whatever seems to indicate it should prioritize the wired connection. But I'm not so sure it works quite like that. I just disable wireless when I want to use wired.
