anyone use kaspersky antivirus? i'm looking to purchase another one as i am running norton right now and it has been nothing but problems. it hogs way to many resources. i've been reading online about kaspersky and they say it's one of the best if not the best. i would like to know from first hand use though, if any of you have used it or no anything about it, would be great to hear from ya. thanks

I got Avast after seeing it recommended on SM, it's excellent and free. I never put anything Norton in my PC anymore, it always causes more problems than it fix's.

ve been using kaspersky for 4 months now, could not be happier. best detection rates out there. very little cpu and memory overhead. only thing is the user interface is confusing, but if you are posting on this forum it wont be a problem. i suggest nabbing the trial version, make sure you are happy with it, then give it a go. i love it.

BitDefender, BitDefender, BitDefender! It and Panda Titanium (NOT Platinum, Titanium's core is tougher) are the best I've ever used. Currently using BitDefender - haven't had a virus since on any computer since I've installed it (Three computers, one year) and if there was one, say in a download, it's caught before it completes itself on your hard drive. :) Also has mail scanning, registry monitoring, firewall, script control, cookie control, and Dialer protection! All easy to turn on and off, depending on what you want. Can't say enough good things about BitDefender! :D

Uh, yes, there is a free version of BitDefender. However, it can't detect trojans. I use the Professional version. Either this, or the Home version may have a trial, I'm not sure. Also, a lot of reviews you read say PC-Cillin is #1. It isn't. I found 4 virii after installing Panda over pc-cillin, and other one or two after installing BitDefender. My mom's computer guys put Trend's Internet Security (pc-cillin plus some unneeded crap) on their work servers awhile back. Within weeks the server crashed and even NORTON on my mom's computer was detecting TONS of viruses. Just a word of warning to not take everything at face value...
