New SP-97 Sand-Blasted Version

Hi,

Has anyone heard of this SP-97 Sand-Blasted Version? Is it better than the original?

    anything sand blasted must be better, i guess. it probley just gives it a differnt finish

    Not impressed with the bottom of the heatsink where it makes contact with the cpu.
    Looks like it will run hot with that coarse finish.

    no problem a nice 1500-2000 grit sand paper and wet sand it down, i did that with my whitewater and its like a mirror

    i dont think they would do it if it didnt improve something, im half tempted to buy one just to see whats the deal.

    I think they just did it for looks. It may help the Arctic silver seep into the metal better but doubt it.

    Maybe the rough finish on the fins increases surface area? Not sure it'd make that big of a difference though.

    I got one today ...I just ordered a regular sp-97 and got the sanded one!
    I'll try it next tuesday and let you know what I think ...looks way cool though!
