NTKERN.VXD device loader(s) for this device could not load the device driver (Code 2)
Hi friend, I need help with the following:
1) I am using Win98 SE
2) I had a Intel CS330 webcam connected to my USB port and it was working fine.
3) Today I bought an IBM Camera for my friend and connected it in the place where my INtel cam was to test if it worked fine. I installed the IBM cam and it worked fine. Then I uninstalled it and gave it to my friend.
4) Then I connected my Intel Cam back to the USB port and tried to start it. It would not work.
5) When I went to Device Manager and under "Imaging Device" I clicked properties of Intel USB Video cam and it gives me the above error message. It also shows a small yellow ! sign on the side of the name.
6) Can anyone help me to know what has gone wrong with my system and how to solve the prob and get the camera working again? Please.
7) Also I noticed my sound isnt working nemore and it shows the same error under the audio driver section.
8) I have a lexmark printer connected to the other USB slot and it works fine.
I think when I uninstalled the IBM cam it uninstalled some imp files on my computer which r required for sound and Intel cam. Can someone help me to fix this prob?
I tried extracting the following files from Windows - start - run - sfc -
hid.dll 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System
hidclass.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
hidparse.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
hidusb.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
hidvkd.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.1998 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
mmdevldr.vxd 4.10.1998 4.10.1998 C:\Windows\System
openhci.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
uhcd.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
usbd.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
usbhub.sys 4.10.1998 4.10.2222 C:\Windows\System32\Drivers
but it still shows the same error and sound and Intel cam wont work.

VXD files are old driver files, and if its just ur camera not working this shouldnt have any adverse effect, u can get a new NTKERN.VXD here
bloops, upon FURTHER investigation i came on this
READ IT FIRST, lol

http://bios.driverfiles.net/page,show,1277,228,6,.html
oh yea, it -should- go into the C:\windows\system32 directory if memory serves me correctly
