Is it just me?

Not sure if this belongs here since it reguards Windows, and Graphics, but mostly Windows I would say.

Well, right now I haven't installed my graphics card drivers after a fresh install of Windows XP Pro, well, of course they are crappy in performance, but the COLORS are way more vibrant in appearance, than when I get around to installing the drivers. It's always been like this... on any XP machine I have ever worked on.

Is it just my eyes deceiving me, or does anyone else notice colors are very vibrant before you install teh final drivers?

I've never noticed it, but I did notice that the color on old CGA monitors was more vibrant than VGA. I think (but don't know) it was because only a few colors could be displayed on EGA monitors so the engineers took time fine-tuning the color output to produce a more beautiful color whereas VGA produced so many more colors that fine-tuning the output was too much work.
