xp password lost on tablet pc

edited August 2004 in Science & Tech
Having stupidly bought second hand tablet pc "on trust" I can't log on as I don't have password. Of course no drives to boot from except hard disk.

Any ideas. I don,t care if i lose data as whatever files are on there are the previous owners.

Thanks for any ideas

You could login as admin and delete the account.

    If he has the details.

If he doesn't.. find someone with a portable CD or floppy drive .. so you can boot off that :)

Can you give us the make and model of the Tablet PC. Then we may be able to look into it a little more for you.

I don't think there should be a compatibility problem but you could always search on google just in case.

    I didn't give model. It's a portege p3500.

Following advice I have bought an external floppy off e bay and downloaded bootdisk reccomended on another (similiar) thread. Hope this works. Also got an HD IDE cable to try that solution but no password cracking software.

Is it poss to siply delete sam file ?
