I just reinstalled WinXP.
But now in windows explorer, all the folders on the left hand side are links. :hrm:
When I click on a folder, it automatically expands.
How do I change it so it is normal?

Here you go: Check the last one all the way down.

No Mack that is wrong, that only deals with double clicking on icons not folders in windows explorer, and he's talking strictly windows explorer.

    Here's what you do:

navigate to this key in registry.

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

then click on the DWORD value of FriendlyTree. It should be 1. Change to 0 and your good to go.

Thanks for asking that question, I needed to know that, and with a little poking in the registry that jumped out at me.

Oh It's also right here in folder options view. I just like the registry better, it's more fun to work with.
