edited August 2004 in Spyware & Virus Removal
Hi all, once again im back with the following issue. Our second computer uses Windows ME, recently we encounter an annoying pop-up 'adult'. I really want to get rid of that since a few kids use that particular computer. I haven't seen the pop-up myself so i'm not sure what link is showing when it comes, here i will post the log hope it is all clear what to delete, also advice to undo any unneeded Running processes at startup.
If i need to provide more detail or elaborate certain things let me know.
Thx in advance.

Instead of a startup list, can you post a regular log so we can help you?

(This file is suspicious, not a normal file. I did some looking, and this file matches a pattern used by the Plus18Point adware)

Exit HJT. Stay in Safe Mode, locate the exe and html files above, and quarantine them. The Plus18 Point Portal ones will be in your Program Files folder. After quaranting the files in there, delete that entire folder.

Reboot normally, check things out, and see how it looks. Come back and let us know, post a fresh log for review.

Still 2 problems, fix in SAFE NODE:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {49E0E0F0-5C30-11D4-945D-000000000000} - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\IEHelper.dll (file missing)

(Just a missing file, clean up the entry.)

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [%SP_SHORT_TITLE%] "C:\WINDOWS\INF\unregmp2.exe" /UpdateWMP

(File matches some known bad entries. Toast it.)

    Rebot and re-check.
