I just picked up a new tbred b 1700 and a NF7-s.
I only have DDR333 so I left the fsb at 166 and bumped the multiplier.
vcore is default at 1.5v and I am using an SLK-800 with a quiet 3k rpm fan.

How much higher do you think it can go?

i say if you are stable right now with 1.5vcore, you will probably beable to do around 2.2gh ish without any vcore increase

what is the highest that the vcore 'should' go on this chip?

the highest i would go on air on this type of chip will be around 1.85vcore, no more than 1.9v

How much hotter will the chip get when bumping the vcore to 1.85?

a lot hotter, i think, not sure, but when i had my chip running at arounnd 2.2gh with 1.5vcore, it was only about 34ish load, and now i'm running at 2.5gh with 1.85vcore at about 44C load.

Those 1.5 volters don´t like more than 1.85 most of the times.
But thats pretty hot at only 1.5V i must say even if you have a quiet fan. Whats the ambient temps/board temps? GREAT clock!

The room temp right now is around 29C. The new a/c we had installed isn't working that well.
Not to mention I probably don't have enough airflow in my case.

    2GHz @ 1.5v?

Both of the 0310s I purchased hit 2.3GHz.

The first one hits it with 1.65 and the other hits it at 1.7.

However, they both would his 2GHz @ default voltage, so who knows. I'd say you should probably hit 2.3GHz at least, and possibly higher. If you go to 1.85 as suggested you probably could get over 2.3, but you may not be able to adequately dissipate the heat.

Careful, though, as too much voltage can damage the processor.

It ought to go higher. I have a similar setup (same HS & chip, quiet fan <50CFM, KD7-RAID) and 2.4GHz is stable. Running 166FSB also. Voltage is pretty high - more than 2. 0310

Looks like it's time for a little bridge modding, T1.:D You should be able to set a 14-15 multiplier and have no problems, since you can already get higher than that without having to up your vcore any. You only have to blow 2 L3 bridges for a 15 multi, since a 1700(or 2500 Barton) have all the L3 bridges connected.

Just join the 3:rd L12 to get it to a default 166 fsb. You already have the multi for that i think.
