TheHandofGod, a good friend of mine, is adding a couple labs at where he is taking classes to his current folding farm. If you wanna call 1 computer a farm. :) He estimates more than 30 computers, all P4s, most not HT. (He'll get to the HT machines tommorow.) :eek3: :wow2: He is setting them up now, as I type. We'll see how it went when he gets home.

It took him a long time to hit 3k, ( TheHandofGod Chastises 3K) but now many of you will want to start running, or maybe just bend over. :wtf:

Good thing I got him started folding on his own rig, huh?

I just HAD to take some of the credit! :D

Let's hear it for TheHandofGod!! w00t! :celebrate

Whoa... Just got a call back from him. He says now 90... No that's not a typo. Ninety computers are folding for Team 93! :woowoo: I forgot to ask if any of them actually run 24/7 though. And what type of computers they are. :-/ That doesn't matter though, that is a large number of computers!

I'll point him here later tonight. He'll probably be glad to answer any questions... Or just take congrats! ;D

Yes he has permission. He actually had the owner there with him as he was installing it. I think he helped with the mass installing.

probably, it makes the service setup so easy!

Good thing some of us got a head start on him. I'm trying to install as many as I can myself since I received permission. Since running neck and neck with Max PC production-wise maybe this will start closing our point gap.

Holy 90 computers batman. That is awesome. With that kind of extra power to the team, we should be bumping up in the stats in no time.

Yeah I made sure he used the V5 client. Can't wait to see what kind of output this all produces!

Yea, I had the owner auto cast the instruction set to have it install on all the comupters at once. On the down side though, they will not all be running 24/7. This is because the owner is worried about stressing his machines too much. These machines are like laptops on a stick. They have the monitors and all other hardware built into one unit. Which means that the cooling for them is obviously limited. All of the computers are no less than 2.4 Ghz in speed. He wouldn't let me put it on the HT machines because he doesn't want them being stressed at all, they are the employees computers rather than the student machines. I think it's pretty pimp though, cus I'll be racking up the points faster than most of you now, and I'll finally catch up. No more 1.7 Ghz machine limiting me!! :D

You are going to look like a mere blur when you zoom past the folks above you. :respect:

If this all pans out the way it looks now we should be making a few teams ahead of us get very nervous.

Lol :-/ Sorry guys. I still will on occasion, and maybe one day if I get some weird urge I'll start it up again. Problem is, it puts out a lot of heat...I don't really like waking up sweating >_< and opening a window won't help. Maybe once we move, I'll jump back in. But I'll have lost 3 HT computers ...

Any updates on when the computers will start crunching some wu's?

I dunno. Last time he checked, they were running, but they only run a few hours every day. Something should have been turned in by now, maybe something went wrong when they installed it? :confused2

He goes back on Monday, he should be able to check then. :skeptic:

I don't know, Im going to be talking to the owner today, and checking the machines... He was very nervous from the get go because of the stress I would be placing on the machines. I'm going to make sure the service is on automatic and that there were no errors. There's definitley gotta be something wrong cus I should have turned something in by now.

If he's not a computer guru himself you might want to make it clear that the F@H program does an excellent job of backing off when other programs need more resources. I'd steer clear of using the term "stress"; Folding only utilizes a machine to its rated potential.

If things are running, but not 24/7 I wouldn't worry. I had a run of dinky WU's that had me scratching my head, followed by some big fella's that took some time. If everything is still on you might just see a sudden surge in points when they finish crunching them out.

    Good luck! :)
