I have a dc i use for a gpo with 5 users, the server is a 2003 box, 750MHz, &
512MB Ram. I have a workstation hooked to the dc and have my users log in on that machine to the dc. When a user logs in its taking a while (3-5 min) any ideas why its taking so long to log in? But when i log straight into the workstation and not the dc its very fast

I assume your talking after you login with the doman/user/password or what? Is that where you have a very long delay before you hit the desktop maybe? Depends on how its handling offline files. When I first started playing with keeping our home directorys on the network some of the logins were ridiculouas because ite was trying to keep the network login directory in sync with a local login directory in case the network was down so my GB's of porn was really jacking me over in my home directory.

Do your users have local, roaming, or mandatory user profiles? Sounds like their profiles are possibly being pulled down from the network everytime they logon. If they are roaming...this will happen each time they logon to the AD Domain from a different workstation. What about Offline folder synchronization, is it used?, what is being synch'd?
