OK, I guess that I was sloppy when I pulled the NV card and installed an ATI. At first there were no issues, but now that I have updated the ATI drivers a couple of times I am getting a bunch of video artifacts.
I want to remove all traces of prior video drivers, not just uninstall.
How do I do this? Apparently the standard 'driver removal tools' are not getting everything. Got a better one for me?

I can think of 2 options:

    1. go through the registry yourself and remove any instances of prior driver keys.

    2. Reinstall Windows.

    Both options are painful!

    1. uninstall the current driver
    2. reboot, ignoring the message (if any) from windows
    3. delete all ATI & nVidia file folders - usually there's 1 under C: and one in Program Files
    4. delete registry keys HKey Local Machine/Software ATI & nVidia both usually put entries there. Snoop around the registry looking for other keys that are under those names too.
    5. reboot, ignore windows message blah blah
    6. empty recycle bin. Reboot yet again.

at this point, you *should* be clean, go ahead and install the latest driver
