Ok, if you can, place a screenshot of all the codecs, filters and video players you download and install on your computer so that I can see who has what, and this will help others get an idea of what codecs work the best.

Here is a screenshot of mine. BTW i run Windows Media Player 10 beta

From your list I have just #2 installed. JetAudio player takes care of the rest with DLLs. No fuss, no mess, just easy playback. In the interest of helping others I would ask that you edit your post to include urls to "official" download locations for each number.

    thanks

Well. Its pretty much the following:

    http://www.k-litecodecpack.com/
    http://www.divx.com
    http://packs.matroska.org/
    http://www.free-codecs.com/

And a little bit of searching on google.

Also, its not a good idea to just have XViD installed. XViD isn't able to decode everything, it does XViD, DX50, and DiVX 4CC's, so it can decode DiVX down to at least 4 in some instances, but it can't decode DiVX below v4, so this makes necessary a combo of codecs. DiVX is there to decode what FFDShow can't decode, and what XViD can't decode (I've disabled the options in FFDShow to allow the other codecs to decode the relevant coded files). 3ivx is there because XViD can't decode 3ivx files and DiVX can't properly decode 3ivx files. 3ivx can't properly decode XViD, so that option is disabled, as well as decoding of DiVX encoded files (this is so DiVX can decode it). Also, Quicktime and Real Alternative is there so that it can play Quicktime and real network video files without having to install the actual players. I Also have matroska so that it is also necessary for when you play MKV and OGM video files. Also, GSpot there is to determine what codecs are installed on your computer, and to determine what codecs can decode a particular file.

I know that you've ran into the occasional video file that won't play, or that crashes your player simply because you don't have enough codecs installed.
