What motherboard for Thorton CPU?

edited August 2004 in Hardware
parton my ignorance on this subject but I need to know what motherboard will work with the following CPU:

AMD Athalon XP 2400+ (Thorton I think?)
AXDC2400DKV3C 1068075A41041
AQTHAD401WPMW

Bought this OEM processor and a motherboard, the CPU wouldn't work.
Went to a retail store and bought another CPU, Reatil Thoroughbread they said, and it worked. I think mine is a thorton.

I sent the cpu back and they wouldn't refund my money, but they gave me a replacement. So I thought I might as well use it.

What motherboard can I use with this Thorton cpu?

any help is appreciated!

Thanks for the info, I had an Asus A7n8x I believe.
Must have been a faulty processor after all and I just should have waited for the replacement.
    Oh well.....
I guess I will buy a case, MB and memory and have 2 machines!
