Started of great, relaxing, checking the S-M forum etc.

Then..........Pulled Sally's puter apart to change her HS & fan to a new Gigabyte Ultra 2004 GT. Halfway through the job we had a power failure.

By the time it came back on, reset all the puters lost a heap of time.
Next decided to try and get the Preshott to run cooler. Had a little SilentStream water cooler sitting there doing nothing. Fitted it and hoped for a miracle. Temp went down from 63c to 55c....woot, had a win. This was not for long. Next day up to 61c. :bawling:

Pulled it all apart again and fitted a Gigabyte Ultra 2004 GT meant for another puter and now it has been running at 31c consistantly........

Next came the AMD XP2500+. Running @ 48c. Pulled IT apart, fitted a TT Smartfan II. Now it has improved by -5c....Steady @ 43c.

All the time spent, pulling things apart meant.....no points/WU's.
Still got a few to modify a bit later this week, so hoping for a steady run for awhile.

Since we dropped the temp in the AMD, we will start playing around with a bit of O'Cing. Got to start somewhere.

So there you have it.
Fold on folks. :smokin:

Glad everything is folding now. You can never tell about power outages, glad they weren't down more than it had to be.

Don't feel bad. I had a PSU die on one rig and with my schedule missed it for almost 3 days. My wifes rig and one other are both going through growing pains. Then my 2 new rigs are not even close to done yet. I tell ya, if it wasn't for paying the electric bill and other stuff I wiuld quit my job. ;)

I've been fretting over production for the past 5-6 days, what with SM22 having problems and other home network problems. I just found out that I set up 1/2 of my P4 HT to fold under the name 'y' (tho under team 93) when I installed 5.0 last week. Duhhhh, not sure how it happened but it's fixed. The funny thing? there are (were) TWO users named 'y' on Team 93. Check your boxen. ;D

Ah, the wonders of managing a folding farm.;D I know the feeling well. :buck:

I have some upgrades planned also this week; I just got my OCZ PC4400 EL Gold memory in and will be dropping it into my IC7-G rig and the XMS4000 will then make it over into the IS7 rig and the XMS3200 in it will go back to the NF7-S rig again. That will then give me 5 working rigs with 512 MB ram onboard so that I can play with the large wu's with most of my farm and the PC4400 should let me gain more performance out of the IC7-G by letting me overclock the fsb higher at a 1:1 memory ratio.

Yes, I feel for you V8. I still don't have my second NF7 box running. I am having to use parts from two other boxes, and still keep one of them folding. Some parts will end up getting moved twice. but we do it out of love, and insanity.

Ain't that the truth, lol..................For "The Love of it", Sally has not seen bed in over 24 hrs. HEAPS of problems at the moment. Just 1 machine giving Migraines. :bawling:

Just about to start a new thread, high lighting what is happening and hopefully get some assistance. :)
