Hey guys. When I turn on my comp, there are colored bars all over the screen. THis happens in and out of windows. It's just not clear and is happening on two different monitors. Is this a sign of a video card failure?

Do you have an old card you can cross reference? I would have to say yes.

You overclock the card at all? And what card is it?

no, the card isn't overclocked and it's a Radeon 9700 Pro. I tried another card on the same monitor and it worked. I also tried an 8500 and it worked. I have a feeling it might be going, but I'm hoping for the best.

In Star-Trek language, a core breach is about to happen.

I had the same 3 times with a Gforce 4 from Creative. RMA it.

It's made by ATI, I just filled out thier RMA form. I know it's still underwarranty. Might be time for an upgrade.

Video card RAM failure\instability or a sync signal gen failure. RMA is an excellent thing to do with it.
