Which DivX is better?

I have DivX 5.2 installed, and it seems to cause problems with Tempenc trying to convert a divx encoded file to m2v+mp2 or mpeg (it causes it the finished product to be double in length, a 27 minute episode winds up being 1h and 9 minutes and no audio. Plus it takes 2hrs to convert a DivX file compared to about 30 minutes with any other file.
Which version of DivX is better than DivX 5.2? DivX 5.1, 5.0.5?

Although on some of those files, Tempenc would do "judging field order" on them

here is my setup for codecs
if you want i can send the pack i have it is only 8.14 megs
you have to uninstall any other packes first
if yes i will have to do it tonight have to go to work in a few
I'll have to do a little bit more experimenting, BTW, could it have anything to do with SP2? I never had Tempenc in SP1 do "Judging field order" before.
Cyberlink PowerDVD installs the Fraunhaffer MP3 Codec, so I don't really need that.
Hmmm, it seems that after reencoding the file from the original DivX 5 to XviD it works fine, even as DVD NTSC. I guess it is that encoding bug that DivX 5 has.
Use the mainconcept MPEG Encoder.
It will work with the divx 5.2 and all other divx codecs
accept for xvid it has some problems with that.
But you can use VLAN for that (video Lan)
when you open the file you can go to stream output.
then press settings and work for there
if you select output to file and give it a filename and use the mv2 it will convert it with no problems.
then you can use it in mainconcept mpeg encoder or tmpenc to convert it to the format you want
