RAM Frying Mobo?
Hi All!
I bought some RAMBO RAM (3x 512mb DDR400) off Trademe for me and a friend. My Friend comes back to me and tells me that when he put the RAM in his PC with his other RAM, the PC starts randomly resetting, and doesn't work as well, then eventually doesn't turn on. Then he removes his new RAM and leaves his old RAM in there. It works fine for a few minutes, then starts to have the same problems. He takes the old RAM to a mate and tests it in his PC :/. His has the same problems now.
I had sticks of RAMBO that works fine in both of my PCs, but when I removed one of the sticks from one of my PCs and replaced it with a stick that a friend at school gave me to test, it starts having the same problems >_<. I even tried a stick of ADATA in and it does the same thing :/.
I've ran the old RAM in memtest for a few minutes (20mins) - is that long enough?
What do you guys think the problem is? This has costed me a small fortune so far
