It won't install. It gets to the point in the attached pic, and halts. I've installed this before, but it WAS on a different machine, and it was v9 I think. Any idea what's up? I've let it sit there for 10 minutes or so, but it won't budge...

    Can you say bump?

I'd really like to get this installed...what's going on here, anyone?

Slackware 10 hated me to, so I went with Red hat 9. If there are no slackware users here you can try some slackware forums. You might want to try a different disc or maybe a different hdd if possible. I wish I could be of more help.

You might have to do an interactive startup. I had to do that with Mandrake on a laptop, it wouldn't start either. Disabling PCMCIA through the interactive startup allowed it to start (it would halt at PCMCIA in the interactive startup, so I decided to disable it on further tries)

What's 'interactive startup'? And if I can't get this to work at all, then I'll have to try another one :-/

haha, i see your havin linux probs! ;)

you should have went with Mandrake 10 since its so user friendly and easy to install. but if you want to keep trying to install go here:

    http://www.linuxquestions.org/

they are real helpful for any type of linux problems. Slack is also good for your first distro, its usually the distro for people who know what they are doing.
