ATi Driver mishap in the registry, help!!

edited August 2004 in Hardware
well, as the title states, I'm having a mishap in the registry with ATi stuff. I have attached a screenshot of me trying to get a Radeon 7000 64MB PCI to install.

I can't stand onboard S3 graphics, I cant even play CS :mean:

by the way, I should say nVidia cards work perfectly

what does S3 onboard graphics have to do with Ati drivers and nVidia cards?
    I am really confused here.

S3 is my onboard graphics I am limited to, also an nVidia card if I had one, they both work perfectly, but any ATi card I pop in, doesnt work, and I get this error message when I try to set it up in the control panel (which is the only place I can do it)

and should I say you are a folding@home machine

edit: I should clarify, I do have an nVidia GeForce MX440, but it is in my brothers machine, I borrowed it to test my AGP slot, which it worked perfectly. I know the PCI slot isnt blown becuase I have tried my audigy 2 in thre and it works fine

Future note: Don't mix & match NVidia & ATI video cards & drivers on the same machine on the same Windows install. You are asking for trouble by doing that :)

BTW, you're from Whitecourt, Alberta aren't ya...
