Can't even run Hijack This.exe

Please please help me - I am but a simple man with simple needs!!!!!

I have gone to try and remove HSA using the posted steps, however I have run into some problems.

I can run HSRemove.exe, Ad Aware and Spybot Search and Destroy, but I've downloaded Hijack This.exe but when i go to run it it pops up on the screen then dissappears before i get a chance to run it. The same is happening with my Norton AntiVirus.

HSA is doing my head in. Internet Explorer is also doing strange things, such as not allowing pop ups that i need for things such as internet banking and personal profiles on certain websites. Also when i go to hotmail and attemp to view specific messages it won't open them, and show's a javaxcript address in the toolbar at the bottom of my browser.

I'm running XP with 2.4Ghz Celeron and 512Mb RAM.

Can someone please help me out - or is it time to get a professional in to clean me up???

One of the pieces of spyware on your system is preventing HJT from running. One thing I can suggest is renaming the executable. Rename it to something like "sfdgkhjsdfoie.exe" or "thing.exe" or whatever. Try that, it may work. If it doesn't, let us know and we'll try something else.

Also, make sure you are trying to run HJT in SAFE MODE. Also, try running HJT IMMEDIATELY upon bootup, i.e. as soon as you can. Perhaps you can run it before the "bad thing" that is killing it has a chance to start.
