Asus problems upon startup

edited August 2004 in Hardware
IM upgrading my mothers computer for her, Using an Asus p4s800-mx. I was told by someone i could install the mb and cpu without having to format the hd. So after the changes when i tried to start i got the 'start in safe mode' prompt upon which the computer restarted in a loop.

i tried to flash the bios with the most updated version using the asus ezflash. after doing that i discovered that her floppy drive wasnt in right. so i had to go in and pull the thing out. Now, when i pulled the floppy drive out I accidentaly 'bumped' the motherboard, which somehow cut the power off.

Right now i have a hard time getting the computer to turn on at all. when it does, the monitor never wakes up. so i dont know if its the bios thats screwed up, or the hardware. Im hoping i havent ruined the whole setup.
