Locking out my windows when I close the lid to my laptop

Is there anyway to lock my laptop (like the way Windows Key + L does) when I close my laptop?

I know i can always press windows key + L, but I would rather have close it, and forget about it protection.

Under Control Panel-> Power Options-> Advance-> I can choose to standby when i close my laptop, and prompt for password when coming off standby BUT! standby disconnects my wireless internet connections, and if i'm downloading something it will stop it.

I'm thinking isn't there somewhere in the registry that I could change that at?

I set screensaver to come on after 5 min, with password protection.
I am sure someone could write a small program that when the lid closes, send a key event (windows key + L) to lock the laptop.

Ya i'm hoping the later is already true, I had screen saver password on, but I have a really bad tendency to watch tv, then it comes up, then i have to type in the password just right, its just getting annoying. Thats why I really want this option to substitue my screen saver solution.
