one of my pcs is stalling at the part after bios has loaded. it freezes for a moment after it says "updating dmi ... successful" and then i get the message "a disk read error has occured. ctrl-alt-delete to restart." this keeps happening, any solutions? also some funny noises from the hdd when it pauses after the dmi part.

thanks!

who's disk is it? have you tried their diagnostics? Most if not all manufacturers have their own diagnostic programs for the drives.
