CPU @ 100%.. Comp wont boot

Basically anytime i turn on my ocmp the cpu usage goes straight to 100% and the computer doesnt even boot up beause of this, most of the time its explorer.exe that takes it up.. any help or sugestions wud be appreciated

    Operating system? System specs? More thorough description of your problem?

    Like TheGr81 said, a few more specifics on your computer's setup, such as operating system and some specs on the hardware inside it if possible.

    runnin windows XP home, comp was loadin up fine always then it jus started that, hardware spec - dfi lanparty, 512 mb pc3200 ram, amd athlon xp3000+ processor....that any help?

    Can you boot up in safe mode? If you don't know how to do that, you hit the F8 button right after the initial bios screen clears and it will give you a menu to choose from.

    I'm wondering if you just added some new hardware or software right before this problem surfaced or that maybe you got some malware from a drive-by on some website.

    yea it boots up in safe mode but there hasnt eben any new hardware or that installed
